It is a new year. We have all lived through a stressful time, and for many of us, the stress is ongoing. Relating with plant allies as a practice can ease tension and support the body. One of our favorite ways to do this is to drink a nice cup of nourishing tea, especially tea that includes adaptogens. Adaptogens help us adapt in strenuous situations and are said to fortify the body over time. These plants often grow in tough climates and have adapted themselves to thrive in unexpected or harsh living conditions. They bring that quality to us. This beautiful blend comes direct from our resident herbalist + founder, Sarah Buscho, and includes adaptogens like licorice root and other herbs to soothe the stomach and calm the nerves.
 Ingredients:
1 tablespoon dried peppermint
1 tablespoon powdered licorice root
1 tablespoon fennel seed
1 inch piece of fresh ginger (chopped)
6 cups of water
Method:
Combine all the herbs in a pot with the water and bring to a boil. Turn the heat down and simmer for 15 minutes. Strain and pour. Enjoy sweetened with maple syrup or honey, or on its own for a sweet moment of bliss. *This blend should be avoided by those that have high blood pressure. In general please consult a physician if you have health conditions that can interact with herbal intakes before consuming.
