We are big fans of aromatic grasses around here. Palmarosa and vetiver are two of our favorites from a sustainability and skincare perspective. They are both grown in many areas to control soil erosion, and are also phenomenal for topical use on the skin! Add to that their healthy plant populations, and formulating with these grasses is a real win-win in our book.
Palmarosa is the grass that strives to be a rose. With a fresh, green, rosy-lemon aroma it is a lesser-known botanical that we prize for its smooth scent and the beneficial properties inherent in its essential oil. Steam distilled palmarosa contains rose alcohols, rose aldehydes and rose esters which are particularly suited for dry or imbalanced skin. It brightens as it balances, and gives many of our most popular products that elusive fresh floral note that is hard to put your finger on.
